Originally Awanacancha was an old field that originated for the breeding of camelids: llama, alpaca, vicuna and guanacos. This project was started with the objective of benefiting the associated communities, the people participating in the project are personnel from the surroundings who have great knowledge of the processes of shearing the animals who then proceed with the firing of the obtained wool. In this process the wool is boiled in clay pots, then used to color the plants in the area.
Finally the obtained wool is used in the elaboration of a variety of garments, such as hats, scarves, blankets, wallets and the popular chullos which represent the people of the mountains of Peru.
